Well… not quite, especially when my team’s advertising gets you more exposure than realtor.ca
You can’t rely on the drive-bys to see your sign, or those that casually browse realtor.ca in order to get your house sold. Your realtor needs to be actively marketing your property on all platforms possible, and the focus should be online exposure.
The one major thing I’ve noticed is that our online ads are seen as much as 3-5 times the amount in comparison to the reach on the realtor.ca website.
Actively boosting posts, creating ads on all social media platforms and retargeting those users that are currently “shopping” for a home in various ways online are key to making sure that as many buyers as possible see your house for sale.
I check my listing numbers all the time. Religiously.
It’s not a vanity thing either, I want to find trends and see what ads and posts are performing the best, and then doubling down on those strategies for future listings, as well as listings that we currently have live on the market.

We lean heavily on our online presence and advertising because that’s where we see the highest return on value when we are marketing our clients’ properties. The spray and pray method of newspaper ads / flyers just don’t cut it on their own anymore, especially with the dwindling subscriber base that print media is seeing. That’s why we are pushing your home on to as many online platforms as possible. It will be almost impossible for targeted audiences not to see your home for sale in some capacity or another.
